Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
